Ertuğrul District is the historical neighborhood of Süleymanpaşa. It has a special building, which was organized as a museum by the Hungarian Government, in honor of the memories of Erdel Prince and Hungarian People's Liberation Hero, Rakoczi French II, who lived in an old Turkish house between 1676-1735 and spent his last years in Tekirdağ. The historical house where the novel Çalıkuşu was written is here. It has many historical buildings such as Namık Kemal Provincial Public Library, Rüstem Pasha Mosque, Bedesten Bazaar. In addition, it is possible to come across old Tekirdağ houses while walking around the streets. The population of 2019 is 2,954.
